Adoption fees are $100 for both male and female kittens/cats.

Adoptions fees are $150 for a cat of either sex that is declawed. The fee for both male and female dogs is $100.

The adoption fee for all adult animals includes: spaying and neutering, deworming and standard vaccinations appropriate to their age.  All cats available for adoption are tested and negative for FeLuk and FIV.  Dogs are tested and negative for heartworm.  Adopters will also receive pet coupons (varies as supplies last).

Animal visiting and adoption hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 11:30 am and at other times by appointment. Call 931-503-0053 during that time for more information.  We have many more cats of every conceivable age, color and size than are shown on petfinder.com.  Visit us if you want to see them all!

An adoption application and adoption agreement must be completed and signed, which requires that the animal be returned to Cats Are Us if at any time or for any reason you can no longer care for the animal.  Those interested in adoption must come to our facility for a pet;  we do not ship animals out of the area.  Filling out an application DOES NOT guarantee a particular pet, as we sometimes get many applications for the same animal.  The final decision is made based on which home we feel is the best match and, also, the location of the adopter.   We prefer local adoptions in case a match doesn’t work out, as we require the pet be returned to us if that happens.

You may also visit some of our cats at Pet Smart at 2784 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Clarksville, TN 37040, where adoption applications are available.  If you find a friend at Pet Smart, bring your completed application to our office during business hours to finalize the process.  Many of our fostered cats and kittens are available at the adoption events happening at Pet Smart, 2784 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Clarksville, TN Saturdays and Sundays from 12 Noon until 4 PM where you can also fill out an adoption application.

If you’d like an application to fill out at home to save time when visiting us, please email CatsAreUsTn@aol.com to have one emailed to you.

Pet Parents Needed!

We are in need of responsible people who are willing to work as foster parents for some of our rescued animals.  Fostering is rewarding work and you are helping to save a life of an animal who is lost and alone and needs your help to make it into a forever home.  Contact Cats Are Us at CatsAreUsTn@aol.com or at (931) 503-0053 if you are interested in fostering or to ask questions about fostering.

We are looking for people willing to open their hearts and homes to elderly and special need cats. We will pay all care costs to include food. litter, etc. and veterinary care. Finding permanent retirement homes for these cats will allow for the shelter to help more homeless cats who can be more easily adopted. Most people are looking for kittens or young cats, so our elderly cats never really have a chance. By finding them a retirement home, not only will they finally enjoy a wonderful home, but it will allow us to help more cats in the long run.

We also have special needs cats that often get overlooked as well. They might be deaf or missing one eye or need to be on special food for a certain condition. Some may have tested positive for FIV, so we can’t adopt them into a home with another cat, unless that cat too has FIV. Cats with this condition can live very long and happy lives, but with so many cats to choose from they are never chosen.

All you need to do is be willing to provide a special-needs or elderly cat a place to live and lots of love and we’ll take care of the rest. If you are interested, stop by the shelter between 8 am and 11:30 am Monday through Saturday or call 931-503-0053 during that time.

  1. Hello, I am looking for a dark grey chow/lab mix named Kal. He was dropped off at a shelter while I was out of the state and I would like to have him back. If you don’t have him or havent seen him are there any other no-kill shelters in the area? Thank you for any help you can give.

    • There is an adoption fee of $85 for our kittens if they are not fixed. If they are the fee is $100 and, if they are declawed, it is $150. Our kittens/cats/dogs are all tested and up to date on their shots. If you get a kitten from us and show us proof that you have had her/him spayed or neutered, $50 of that comes back to you. If you are looking for a free pet, I suggest you try Craigslist or Fort Campbell Yard Sales.
